Oh, lord.

So, I have signed up for: hp_nextgen_fest, wizard_love and the harryscorp100 LDWS, PLUS offered to pinch hit various fsts, which may or may not give me assignments. Oh, yeah - and I played the number game at rarepair_shorts and the pairings I got... Just. Fuck.

Bear in mind I can't start work on any of these until Dec 1 - my Nano may be going nowhere fast but I am determined that it go SOMEWHERE.

And then I see acciovalentinus, a nextgen valentine fest and I think, "Shiiiiiiny!"

This is going to be like September, when I was killing myself trying to do hp_cross_fest (twice), hp_darkfest, hd_career_fair and hp_triangle

I need my head examined.

Hello, new friends :) And old friends, too. I feel churlish for failing to respond to those of you kind enough to respond to the other week's whiny emo post - in my defense, I did catch the flu though mercifully it was not H1N1, just the regular kind.

There will be a flurry of cross-posting soon (TM) as the careerfair and crossgen reveals are both up. I have mixed feelings of pride regarding my current writing - my yuleballs fic is finished and I really like it, but my Nano... oh dear. Oh dear.

Should avoidance continue, I'll try to finish the ones owed others in the next couple of days - shorry it's taken so long. So, yeah – I've been writing in a vacuum for a really long time now, it feels. If it weren't for my betas I'd have no contact at all with fandom people right now because I'm digging my way through all the fest fics I'm trying to finish. Aaargh, aaargh, woe is me etc. One of them is probably going to have to be submitted unbeta'd at this point because it's due scary soon and I just can't finish the damn thing! Gah!
/unwhine.

Anyway. Back before I had driven myself mad with fic-writing, I penned this for the remixredux09. Remixes are very interesting to me – rewriting someone else's fic from a different perspective. I went gen for this fest and took a cheery little post-HBP piece and rewrote it post-DH:

Dear F-list, I beg you for aid!

With both (!) my usual betas occupied elsewhere, and a fist full of fest fics due over the next couple of weeks, I turn to you to beg for help.

I am in the process of completing 3 fics for various fests. One is fairly standard, though angsty. One is full of sub/dom moments. One is incestastic.

I'm hopefully going to have the buggers finished by next weekish. Can anyone help me out?

This weekend we had glorious weather, and so a day trip to Akita-ken ended up being a full weekend of camping on the beach and although I know I get burned if I'm out in the sun for more than about 5 minutes, thanks Dad for my Irish skin, I was having too much fun to seek shade and now I'm scarlet. Back, thighs, shoulders, nose.

On the other hand this will mean that I'm unlikely to want to go outside during the day for a few, so maybe I'll get caught up on my fics, that I know I'm woefully neglecting :(

Evening all.

Well my friend from home has returned there, and lovely though it was to see her the experience has solidified my fears that I will never be able to handle having a relationship because I spent most of the time thinking, "Oh my God, you're always here!"

I really missed writing and reading and fandom-ing generally. I was really surprised by how much I missed it, truth be told. So to welcome myself back, I ask you to challenge me!

I love reading leni_ba's alphabet drabbles and I have often thought about doing something similar. And then I browsed in the general direction of un_love_you and found this awesome table of prompts.

And what I'd like you to do is pick a number and give me a HP pairing. And just this once, I'll write ANYTHING you say - slash, het, femmeslash - even that character you know I can't write.

Thanks must also go to nolagal and snarkyscorp, the mods of this awesome fest. This was actually the first fic I wrote in this fandom, believe it or not, and it's all because of that fest.

Beta'd by love_stoned0_0, the most awesome beta I could possibly have asked for, and without whose help this fic would be half as good. If you need me, I can be found worshipping her.

This was also partly inspired by a remark hollycomb made in the comments on one of her fics about how she couldn't picture a Ginny/Scorpius scene. It immediately made me think, "Ginny would if Harry was sleeping with Draco!" and that's pretty much where the idea came from, before the fest and the prompt conspired to make me actually write it.

I'll shut up now and let the story speak for itself. Except to say - thank you to everyone who supported the fic over at nextgendarkfest.
